Testbed hardware

If you want to get some practice before messing with the TV’s EEPROM, you will need to get some Serial I2C bus EEPROM for a testbed. The one you should get is M24C64. I got myself M24C64-WBN6P from eBay, which is 64kbit (8KBytes) capacity DIP-8 type (the one you can easily connect to a breadboard).

If you are starting from scratch, you will also need a breadboard (the small one should suffice) and some jumper wires you can make yourself or buy.

For the altered testbed you will also need two resistors in a range from ~4kΩ to ~10kΩ. Here is a handy color coded calculator if you have some resistors lying around but don’t know what values they are anymore.
